Talking to you about my latest obsession
Talking to you about my latest obsession
What is Episode?
Episode is an interactive story app filled with hundreds of genres.
You are now the main character and your choices determine your ending.
The Pros:
The Cons:
THE FREAKING GEMS!
It’s a meme now, Episode, and those gem options.
You play a story and the story takes you to an option that’s something like
Option 1: Wear the most beautiful gown ever and gain the attention of the Prince (15 gems)
or
Option 2: Wear raggedy sweats to the ball and make a fool of yourself
The story sets you up for failure where you pay the gems for the good option or embarrass yourself with the free option.
And the only way to get gems is to:
Because of Episode and these freaking gems, it can be really annoying to use the app, but that’s why I’m here.
I’ll tell you how to Episode for free.
This is self-explanatory.
Immediately, Episode is going to want you to read their original stories.
You’ve got to play chapters of different Episodes to unlock 6 originals and then you can unlock the whole app.
It’s either that or pay 17 gems which you don’t have unless you pay real money.
Pro: Great outfits, hairstyles, and sometimes great stories
Cons: All the great outfits and hairstyles are behind gem paywalls.
You will constantly be forced to pay the gems fee or choose the free and lamer option.
The solution is obvious.
CHOOSE THE LAMER OPTION.
It doesn’t matter if you choose the gem option or not, it doesn’t affect the story and you will still get your happy ending.
So even if it’s between telling off the mean girl so you can get your dream job or letting the mean girl win, I promise, no matter what you choose, you will get the dream job.
Why?
Because you are LITERALLY the MAIN CHARACTER.
The story will always work out in your favor.
So rush through the originals.
Tap the lame option.
Stack your gems and unlock the app.
Another pro, you only have to do this once.
This is the energy I want. Don’t even bother naming the characters.
Ok great.
I know that was probably long and frustrating but it’s over.
Now on to the fun stuff.
Once the app is unlocked, there is a menu at the bottom of the screen.
Listed are Home, Discover, Book Club, Gumball, and Offers.
The magic happens with the Discover section.
When you click it, pick your genre ranging from romance to horror.
Immediately, it’s going to show you all the Episode Originals.
Ignore that and go right to the community tab on the upper right of the screen.
This is your gold mine.
Community stories are better with longer chapters and most importantly, NO GEMS!
These are the stories you get invested in.
Pick your poison.
Something you may have noticed while looking around is that you can click the author’s name of the stories you pick.
Doing this is gonna show the other stories they’ve written, which is great if you like that author’s writing style.
Another thing is that some authors will have a “Stories I Recommend” section in their profile.
Looking at that will also expose you to more great episodes.
Chances are you are gonna like what the author likes as well.
And that is it.
This is how you Episode gem less.
All there’s left to do is put you on to some of the BEST episodes I have ever read.
So you can enjoy them too.
Here we go!
1.) The Devine by Girly
Extremely immersive. I loved every chapter.
2.) Fangs by Girly
I made all the vampires black and it was joyous and healing. I had so much fun playing this.
3.) Switch by Alusza
This story was really funny. I love the way Alusza wrote the main character. Themes that usually aren’t explored in body swap stories were explored here and I loved it.
4.) Black Magic by E R Gurney
I am a sucker for love potion/spell stories. I read this twice. 🙂
5.) Austentatious by E R Gurney
This is one of the first community Episodes I read. It was so cute and the ending is wholesome.
6.) The Lake by J. Miley
This was very romantic. It felt magical, and I loved the multiple endings.
7.) Finding Emerald by Sarah Kieser
The best romantasy to ever romantasy. I was IMMERSED.
8.) Love & Let Live by S. Langdon
Short and sweet and super cute.
9.) Seeker by Khrema
I’m not into Sci-fi, but this one was really good. The ending surprised me.
10.) Spilled Love Potion by Ana Stacy
Once again, I love, love potion/spell tropes. If I find one I’m gonna read it and this one was so good.
11.) The Gamer Girl by Wincy W.
The way Wincy designed her story is beautiful and the story was so fun. 10/10.
12.) Villain Rehab by Caitoriri
This story is hilarious. If you want a light-hearted story that makes you giggle, this is it.
13.) Anyone But You by Janine Dela Cruz
This one I am still reading, however, it is really good. I love the characters and their dynamics. I’m interested to see how it ends.
14.) College of Eternity by Sophookles
This story is very interesting with a lot of world building. Do you like Harry Potter? If so watch this.
15.) Stay the Night by Earlgreytea
Very romantic. The tension was amazing. The story was amazing. The pacing, the second act…I think I might read it again.
16.) Top Streamer by Dynasty
This one I am still reading as well, but I enjoy it. I don’t usually like Fake Dating tropes, but this is written well. And the love interest is canonically a man of color. +1000000 points.
